Who is Revive Motorcycles?

My Daughter and I tackling a CX500, passing this info on to the next generation is a huge motivating factor for the business. If you are young and hungry, I will make time to teach you.

The year was 2003, in Indianapolis Indiana, I would beg my father to drive me the 30 minutes to the nearest motorcycle store which was catered to off-road riders. He would drop me off as I would spend hours staring deep into the engine bays of new and used motorcycles, 4 wheelers, minibikes. Once I exhausted myself staring at shiny complex bits of a machine I had no clue how it operated I would then scour the blink wall with all the latest grips and accessories. I was polite enough to vacate the area when a real customer would come in and the owners had no problem with me being a kid in a candy store. That April I could not believe my eyes but my father led me to the attached garage after opening some basic presents for my birthday in the living room: socks, water guns, a WWF wrestling T shirt. In the corner of that garage was a simple CRF110 that changed my life forever. I will never forget that feeling of sitting on a brand new motorcycle knowing it was for me and the smell of the fresh rubber grips, seat, tires etc. I think I popped out to the garage every 15 minutes just to sit on it until about 1am that night.

Over the next 15 years I found myself subconsciously learning how to take apart and put together almost every component of any internal combustion engine under 500CC. Bikes were so cheap back then in the US, a $100 CX500 was not uncommon.

Once I moved to Australia permanently to have a child I thought It was time to get another bike and my jaw dropped at the prices. I built my first bike from a pile of disassembled junk into a CB400SF and saw a huge opportunity for sales and service of decent priced motorcycles for the person who doesn’t need the fastest or the coolest thing available, they just need a bike like I did. I still work full time but have aquired enough specialty tools and spare parts I am able to easily help someone get any issue with their bike resolved or point them in the direction of someone who can. I love this country, there is a fabric of society the rest of the world I have seen is lacking and I am blessed to be welcomed here in such beautiful country with beautiful people.

My daughter and I do all the work on the motorcycles and it fills my soul to help someone get their bike back on the road when they don’t think they have enough money or skills. Not only will I service your bike, I’ll show you how to do it also.

This company was born out of an opportunity I saw to give the public affordable motorcycles and now I realise I have more to offer the people by servicing their bikes at a much more reasonable cost than a shop who has a lot of overhead this is why I run my business out of my own home. Always happy to have a chat and the kettle is hot at all times if you need to chat about where to go next with your project, what type of paint to use, what size jets to use, or a shoulder to cry on if you threw the stock airbox away in favor of pod filters. Don’t worry I can fix that too.

God Bless and Live Free,

Dylan Gaffin
